NDDTC has been designated as an Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC) under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). As a part of the pharmacovigilance activities, the centre collects Adverse Drug Reaction reports from the clinicians and sends them to appropriate authorities. Apart from that, NDDTC also sensitizes the health-care professionals about the need for continued monitoring of the adverse drug reactions and the process of reporting. It also has been host to trainees and professionals from the PvPI who have come to understand closely the processes of ground level reporting of adverse drug reactions. The centre is also undertaking research activities with regards to pharmacovigilance. The NDDTC has the distinction of the only AMC which is dedicated to reporting adverse drug reactions pertaining to substance use disorders.
